madSpunK Interview

Could you start by introducing yourself for the lovely viewers?

(lc-|madSpunK) Hallo der! My name is Sean otherwise known online as madSpunK, I currently lead the UK CS team Lastchance

Lets start with the roster, what is your current line up?

(lc-|madSpunK) Our current line-up is madSpunK, Undone, AdY, hih1 and LozZA. HeaDBulB is getting new headphones soon so will be able to play again and Song is currently finishing some of his A levels off, but hopefully will be joining the party again soon.

With the recent recruitment of Undone and return of LozZA to the lc ranks, how are your thoughts on the potential of your current line up?

(lc-|madSpunK) We've done a bit of practice with the new line-up (playing in some online tournaments), and I can already say we are improving a lot on the old one. Undone has brought quite a lot to the clan, and is especially good with the magic boom stick, and he definitely knows how to keep the clan morale up :) LozZA is solid as usual, he has played for us countless of times hence why he is back in our roster. He has always been a consistent CS player and is improving everyday. I do not doubt any of these two's abilities as CS players and can trust them in-game 100%.

You’re currently competing in ESL’s CSCL qualifier and CS UK cup and have put in for pretty much every competition that is going, but lets look at the CSCL first your seeded #1 and have had a fairly easy ride to the quarter finals where you now face virgins, do you see them as being obstacle to the semi finals?

(lc-|madSpunK) I'm happy to have such a good seed however that means we're going to have to work harder to reach that number 1 spot. We are still with a new line-up so teams that have played together for more than 1 month have the upper hand against us. We see all the teams there as competition as CS is a very random game and anything can happen, plus its all done online. Virgins is actually Undone's ex-clan, so a lot of them will be hungry to shoot him in the face :P I think they have been together for a while, so their team play will be spot on. We will play quarter finals game like we will play the finals :)

If you progress into the semi finals you will have to come up against Landed.cs or Caution, with the rivalry with landed that fixture looks very tasty and a match up with Caution would be sure to make good viewing, are you worried about possibly facing either side in the semi finals?

(lc-|madSpunK) Both teams are very good, Landed's new line-up is solid and I think they have potential if they can stay together for a long while. CAution's players are not as 'legendary' as Landed’s but I have played in a mix against the CAution players and they were very good. We don't have a rivalry with Landed, all of landed are nice guys and if we do play them it'll be a fun game :) CAution on the other hand have had a lot of talk about them. I'm not too sure about their players but I know Realf!re is a good CL (as Indy has rated him a better CL than me the bastard!), and can be trusted. All of these online games are really just preparation for the next LAN tournament, either teams can probably beat us so any losses won't be taken too seriously. Just a learning curve.

Right, lets move onto the ESL’s UK CS cup, once again you’re seeded as the #1 team in this competition also and are currently in the last 16, you’ve been paired against Mayi (ants.eu?) I know little about this side, are you confident of progressing to the next stage?

(lc-|madSpunK) I get mixed up with both of these tournaments, they both look exactly similar and they have an identical structure. We've seen Ants.uk at the UKT Lan Finals, but I've never seen them play so I have no idea how the game will go. I've heard they like to overclock PCs at LAN so god knows what they do to their PCs at home...

If successful you could face up the possibility of facing Played or Forsaken in the quarter finals, a possible Lastchance v forsaken is sure to raise some interest and would be an interesting tie, how do you fancy your chances in this clash if it was to occur?

(lc-|madSpunK) I think some of the PCGamer guys play for Forsaken, so it'll be a tough game, and even without the PCG guys playing for them it'll still be tough. I have a soft spot for Kenny :(

Being the #1 seed I’m sure you fancy your chances for taking this competition and the chance of racking up an ESL double, there is of course the likely hood you could meet Team Drake in the final and it could go either way, so how do you fancy your chances for winning the competition?

(lc-|madSpunK) We take these tournaments game by game, we aren't preparing as much as we should be but we're doing a little. Unfortunately we aren't under the best circumstances online with myself on my Uni connection and LozZA and hih1 with ISP problems that could be seen in the culpa game we played earlier this week. The most we want to get out of these games is fun and some practice before our next LAN. We've got as much chance in winning the competition as every other clan out there.

Well I noticed on your site your going to be competing in about every competition there is going online right now, is there any LAN’s in the pipeline?

(lc-|madSpunK) We want to go to most LAN’s (that offer sufficient prizes) the UK has to offer, as that is where we get the most out of CS. The reason we're still playing online is to practice together as we don't have enough money to really bootcamp. Our next LAN is hopefully GGL5 if we can find sufficient support, and EOGC a lot later in the year.

Well that’s me done, thank you for your time Sean and best of luck, any shout outs?

(lc-|madSpunK) yeah shout out to dustworld for providing us a great server and gamerzstuff for giving us some mousemats!
